Beacon Community Classes – Winter/Spring 2018

Beacon Community Classes (BCC) are offered in collaboration with some of the most passionate, inspired, and inspiring educators we know and love. Beacon encourages any youth who are interested to experience the joy of learning via these valuable resources and collaborations. These fee-based classes are open to the wider community --no Beacon membership required.

Memory Outside the Mind

Cultures, Traditions, and Mnemonics

Wednesdays, 10:30am to Noon, from 2/7 through 3/14. 

Explore and practice strategies employed by oral cultures through the ages that are applicable to modern purposes.

Yoga & Mindfulness

 Strengthening well-being and health

Wednesdays, 12:30 to 1:30pm On-going, drop-in class, 1/3 through 6/6. Bring your own mat.

Instructor Amy Valente is trained in Deep Play for Kids Yoga, a program that gives youth the gift of embracing their uniqueness.

Biology Lab: Dissections

Hands on Science at Beacon

Wednesdays, 1:30 to 3pm from 2/7 through 4/4

Gain a deeper understanding of the respiratory, circulatory, skeletal, nervous, muscular, and digestive systems in a variety of animals.

GENERAL INFORMATION

All classes, unless otherwise noted, are suitable for ages 12+, and each class has a minimum and maximum number of required participants. Full or 50% fee payment is required at time of registration to hold your space in the class. Full payment is due on or before the first day of class.

Beacon Community Classes are available to Beacon members for reduced or waived fees. Restrictions apply.
